Thanksgiving Events in The East Bay

The Thanksgiving Holiday is around the corner, and as we get ready to celebrate with our families, we also have an opportunity to give back to our community.
Below are a few charitable events held in Oakland to help families in the East Bay this holiday season.

2022 Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Give Away Meal Share
Community Thanksgiving Meals sharing has been a tradition for more than 40 years at the Bay Area Rescue Mission. This event is made possible with the support of private donations from corporations, businesses, and concerned individuals in the greater Bay Area. On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, pre-registered community members will receive a turkey, and other traditional Thanksgiving food items to prepare.

Community Thanksgiving Meal
College Avenue Presbyterian Church is serving its Annual Community Thanksgiving Meal To-Go Style in order to best respond to the COVID-19 reality. As a result, they need fewer volunteers than in our usual buffet-style meal in the gym. They ask that you sign up for a job or task. Children can help as volunteers too. They are limiting the number of volunteers to help so that they can ensure social distancing and keep everyone safe. If you're a volunteer, you will be required to wear a face mask, gloves, and sign a contact tracing sheet.
