That's right, on August 30, 1944 Victor Bergeron, the founder of Trader Vic's, created this delish rum-based cocktail at his saloon located in Oakland at San Pablo and 65th. While some have taken to celebrating Mai Tai Day on June 30th, we here at That East Bay Life are proud of the origin story and will be celebrating along with Trader Vic's today.
